A clear starting point
for the troop’s next website.
This is a separate, private design concept for Troop 677. The current troop website and Mountain Basecamp are unchanged.
What works here
- Six responsive views: Home, Our troop, Adventures, Join us, Resources, and Members.
- Adventure categories, search, and detail dialogs.
- Searchable resource and member-tool gateways.
- A first-visit form that prepares an email draft. It sends nothing and stores no submissions.
- The original new logo, an outdoor brand palette, and five original SVG landscape illustrations.
The member boundary
The Members view contains navigation shortcuts only. All authentication and private content remain with the existing Google Sites member site. There is no new Google login integration, no client-side email allowlist, and no copied member records.
How to build on it
| Option | What the webmaster does |
|---|---|
| Rebuild within Google Sites | Recreate the information hierarchy, theme, content, links, and section layouts. Google Sites cannot import this complete custom HTML/CSS/JavaScript as native pages. Some interactions need simpler native alternatives. |
| Use the supplied static site | Host the website folder with an HTTPS static host. Maintain content in content.js. Keep the existing member site and Google access rules. Domain changes require owner approval. |
Before launch
- Confirm current leadership, contact routing, meeting exceptions, event details, and registration links.
- Verify every member shortcut with an approved account and a denied account; review any target document’s permissions separately.
- Approve the final logo assets and review any photos added later for publication permission.
- Test mobile navigation, keyboard access, contrast, search, email drafts, and all outbound links.
- Approve the hosting path and any DNS change. Remove preview-only labeling and noindex only when public launch is approved.
